About the Louisiana Association for Private Colleges and Schools

OUR HISTORY

The Louisiana Association of Private Colleges and Schools is an organization designed to promote private, for profit colleges and schools in Louisiana. Our role is to educate our members about educational trends, regulatory changes, training initiatives and accreditation. Formerly known as the Louisiana Career College Association, the group was formed in 1972. We are a statewide organization with a board of directors, mission, and bylaws. We work closely with the Board of Regents to promote the career college industry in the state.

OUR MISSION

Our mission statement is “Promoting quality career education, contributing to the well-being of Louisiana, through the collaborative efforts of training providers.”

The Louisiana Association of Private Colleges and Schools (LAPCS) is dedicated to spreading the word about the role of private post-secondary education and represents the many diverse kinds of schools in Louisiana. LAPCS is actively engaged at all levels of government to ensure our members’ voices are heard and our issues are addressed. LAPCS member schools are helping students of all ages, backgrounds and skill-levels achieve their dreams and secure stable employment.
